The nursery is available for children up to age 5 from 9:00am to 11:45am during the school months (September-May) and 10:15am-11:45am during the summer. The nursery staff bring the children into the 10:30 service to join their families at the passing of the Peace. (All adult volunteers are in compliance with the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado through their participation in “Safeguarding God’s Children” training.)
Sunday School classes are available for Pre-K through 12th grade (approximately age 3 through 18) and are held at 9:15am on Sunday mornings starting September 13. Younger children may go from Sunday School into the nursery during the 10:30 service. Typically, children ages 6 and up remain with their families during worship service. All children are always welcome at both the 8:00am and 10:30am services!
It's cool to know Christ! Middle-and high-school students gather twice monthly on Sundays after the 10:30am service for teen conversation and activities such as movies, bowling, mini-golf and more.
Grab a cup of coffee and meet between services in the church library beginning at 9:15am for a deeper study on God's word. Guests are always welcome!
Various programs are offered seasonally on Wednesday evenings during the year including Bible studies or book discussions. During Advent and Lent we gather for a simple Eucharist, soup supper, reflection and discussion.
Weekly at 9:30am, a small Eucharistic gathering includes discussion and conversation. Everyone is invited to meet in the Parish Hall.
This once a month evening is an intergenerational night of Friday fun! Informal worship is followed by pizza or a potluck dinner. All ages are invited at 6:00pm for fun and games!
The women's group usually meets the first Saturday of each month at 8:00am in the parish hall for fellowship, music and prayer. Please bring a breakfast dish to share and hear encouraging stories from other women.
Whether you are a soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, or somewhere in between, come on Thursday evenings at 7:00pm for choir practice or introduce yourself to one of the choir members after the 10:30 service. The choir practices and sings during the fall, winter and spring months. You are welcome to join the team!
In addition to many active ministries within the church, St. John Chrysostom Episcopal Church participates in a variety of outreach ministries including financial support of local and international ministries, food boxes at Thanksgiving and Christmas, Denver's St. Francis Center, 32nd Avenue Jubilee Center, and the Jeffco Action Center.
